FAQs

Q: Do you have a potty training requirement for your preschool?

A: Potty training is a very individual milestone and we believe it happens best when children and families are ready. We are ready to assist when the time is right and therefore do not have a potty training requirement in our preschool classrooms.

Q: How much outside time do children get?

A: Our toddlers and preschoolers spend between 60 and 90 minutes outdoors each day. Each of our schools has a private, secure playground, and children also utilize neighborhood walks and nearby playgrounds. Our youngest infants get outside for tummy time in the fresh air and get taken on neighborhood walks via carriers and multi-child strollers.

Q: What is your guidance policy?

A: Social-emotional guidance is the most important work that we do. We find opportunities each day to model kind behaviors and guide children through safe, respectful communication. We offer positive behavior reinforcement and redirect children when needed. Guidance is done in partnership with families, and we seek to collaborate with them in making sure each child has the tools they need to succeed in school.

Q: Do you provide food?

A: We ask families to send their child to school each day with a lunch and snacks. We serve all children whole, organic milk at lunchtime, and an extra snack if needed.

Q: Can I visit or volunteer at my child's school?

A: Yes! Families can reach out to classroom teachers directly to make a plan that suits the classroom community best.

Q: How do you communicate with families?

A: We do in-person communication at pick-up and drop-off times. Families get a handwritten "daily note" from their child's teachers each day. We utilize a private photo-sharing app where families get photos of their children, and we schedule conferences yearly.
